The Sisterhood of the Traveling Books

Sunday, June 03, 2007

Thanks to Jessica and Shelley, there is a nifty new website:

This is a sister website to Readers Without Borders, where you may have noticed most of my book reviews live these days. I love the idea of traveling books, especially since I already pass on most of my books (much as I love them, they are darn heavy when it's time to move!). And unlike bookcrossing, which I used to be more way involved in, at least this way I know the books are going to an appreciative recipient. I'm looking forward to being a part of this community of readers!

In a real sense, people who have read good literature have lived more than people who cannot or will not read. It is not true that we have only one life to live; if we can read, we can live as many more lives and as many kinds of lives as we wish. ~S.I. Hayakawa

The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
~St. Augustine

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.
~Mark Twain
