- Fizzy Thoughts: Welcome April

Welcome April

Tuesday, April 01, 2008

"The first of April, some do say,
Is set apart for All Fools' Day.
But why the people call it so,
Nor I, nor they themselves do know.
But on this day are people sent
On purpose for pure merriment."
- Poor Robin's Almanac, 1790

Happy April everyone!

April is my favorite month, for lots of reasons. It's spring, the hills are green, the flowers are blooming, there are lots of birthdays to celebrate (including my own, although we're going to ignore the year this time around). And this year, it's a short work month, since I'm taking 14 days off. There's lots to look forward to, so welcome April!

The lyric sound of laughter
Fills all the April hills
The joy-song of the crocus,
The mirth of daffodils.
- Clinton Scollard, April Music

Have a great trip to the GTG. I'm looking forward to reading about it. BTW, have a great BD even if you are ignoring it. :)

Yea! it's April! A lovely bright sunny month. Have fun.

In a real sense, people who have read good literature have lived more than people who cannot or will not read. It is not true that we have only one life to live; if we can read, we can live as many more lives and as many kinds of lives as we wish. ~S.I. Hayakawa

The World is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.
~St. Augustine

Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.
~Mark Twain
