RIP

Bubba turned out to not be the brightest of bugs. Seems he abandoned his cozy little digs on the front porch for someplace in the vicinity of Hamburger's truck's tires. I discovered his remains (hard to miss, considering how big he was) in the driveway this morning.

After a few Google searches, and a bad case of the creepy crawlies from looking at all the pictures, we've decided Bubba was a praying mantis. I'll do us all a favor and skip linking to the bug sites.

So that's it for the bug stories. Tomorrow, we return to book reviews. Although I only have one book to review, so who knows what I'll be talking about for the rest of the week.

Rest in peace Bubba! I saw a praying mantis the other night hanging out on the sidewalk in front of Longs (drug store). They don't seem to be the smartest of bugs out there. I stood there and watched it for a few minutes and then left. Not sure if it got squashed or not.

We had a praying mantis hanging out looking in at us on our window last week. Poor Bubba.

i thought that's what it was. but your pic was not that clear. & you kept calling it ugly. i guess it is. although not illegal to squash one. would you believe it is the CT State Insect. i recently posted pic of one that came to a family wedding where it clung to roof of canopy.

I saw a praying mantis riding on top of a Volkswagon bug the other day. My friend and I thought it was funny that a bug was hitching a ride on a Bug. We chuckled. Maybe praying manti (plural?) everywhere were saluting Bubba's demise.

Bubba turned out to be a popular guy! That's the largest bug I have ever seen in Morro Bay...not to mention the largest bug I ever hope to see.

Eeeeeeeeek. Well I'm glad Bubba is gone. Yikes, gives me the creepy crawlies just thinking about it. Thank God there was no links to bug sites. lol.

In a real sense, people who have read good literature have lived more than people who cannot or will not read. It is not true that we have only one life to live; if we can read, we can live as many more lives and as many kinds of lives as we wish. ~S.I. Hayakawa
